The official website for Square Enix’s Starwing Paradox arcade game announced on Thursday that the staff has canceled the game’s tournament events that were scheduled for later this month, due to the staff receiving numerous death threats.
The announcement noted that the game’s management team had been receiving death threats since last week until this past Wednesday. After filing a police report, the team consulted with both police and the staff for each venue for the event and decided to prioritize the safety of attendees and cancel the events.
