Synopsis:

Ever since he was a child, fifteen-year-old Souma Yukihira has helped his father by working as the sous chef in the restaurant his father runs and owns. Throughout the years, Souma developed a passion for entertaining his customers with his creative, skilled, and daring culinary creations. His dream is to someday own his family’s restaurant as its head chef.

Yet when his father suddenly decides to close the restaurant to test his cooking abilities in restaurants around the world, he sends Souma to Tootsuki Culinary Academy, an elite cooking school where only 10 percent of the students graduate. The institution is famous for its “Shokugeki” or “food wars,” where students face off in intense, high-stakes cooking showdowns.

As Souma and his new schoolmates struggle to survive the extreme lifestyle of Tootsuki, more and greater challenges await him, putting his years of learning under his father to the test.

My Opinion:

If you really enjoy cooking or food I would definitely recommend this anime as a must watch. The story is very well done and it’s fairly easy to grasp the concept of each character. The vibe of the anime can be somewhat erotic, but that’s not why I loved it so much. The name speaks for itself “Food Wars!”, everyone is battling to be the best chef they can be and it gets really intriguing to watch.

The main character, Souma Yukihara, faces challenges to help him become a better chef. You can basically say it’s your typical shounen, but this involves cooking rather than something like Naruto. The animations are done really well and the food looks fairly good it will make your mouth water.

If you’re ever bored or have nothing to do then I would suggest picking this up, because you’ll have a good laugh even if you don’t see this as something you’ll like. Anyways that concludes my review for the week so I hope you all have a nice day!
