Heya everyone, lately (since I started) I haven’t feel like I was doing a good job with the video games reviews, so I want to try something different, so instead of reviews, I just want to open a topic about a game, and talk about it. Thanks for your time!

A little backstory

Bloodborne is an action role-playing game developed by FromSoftware and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for PlayStation 4. Announced at Sony’s E3 2014 conference, the game was released worldwide in March 2015. You take the place of [protagonist] a normal looking [man/women] who was sick and needed to go to Yharnam to get some of that magic blood that seemed to cure any bad yuyu that you could have, but unfortunately, you joined on the night on the hunt, where the residents of Yharnam hunts the beast, and with the residents going blood crazy, it is hard to tell the difference between friend and beast.

The game

I got the game by Playstation Plus, I started it the moment I got it, got to the bloodbeast and couldn’t defeat it, and deleted the game. I thought that I was never gonna play the game again, but some time after a friend of mine recommended me to play Dark Souls III, he told me it was like bloodborne so I really didn’t feel like it, but by the end of the day he convinced me. It took some time but Dark souls grew on me, to the point where it became more of an addiction, and there I was, looking at bloodborne three weeks ago, ready to re-start that game, and now I am like an addict trying to figure out where the hell I was going and why the Nightmare Frontier fucking sucked.

The charm

I am not the first one to say it, and I will probably not be the last. The FromSoftware souls-like games are charming, the way they tell their story and how they make you work for that is great, each scenario and item is place/made with such detail so that it makes sense, there is a lot of dedication put behind the worlds that the story take place in, even though one could complete the game without knowing what the hell is happening, if you are interested enough to figure out what is happening, the game will answer the questions.

The difficulty is also great, the risk-reward system with the health bar, the “no shield”, and “the game is not difficult, you just need to be careful” is so charming. The first time I tried the game I was angry because I thought the game was hard and just stopped playing, but now that I am replaying it with the Dark Souls mentality, It is more of a pain, but a bit easier than before. I now look at each part of the map, I don’t go straight to the boss area, for example, for two of the bosses that gave me trouble, if you talk to the NPC’s they will give u a special item that made the battle easier, or you could’ve learn that a certain weapon or element was better. There is a lot of risk (of dying and loosing your blood echoes) but the game will give you a reward for not having a hurry.

Anything else?

As I write this, I thought that I should say that the game is not perfect, maybe because it has been a while since the game came out, but I see from time to time some, glitches on the game, some times one is able to see inside the buildings, you can cheat the enemies if you get in certain places, or sometimes the enemies would just, kill themselves. The game is great, and I find these things to be funny, but it kinda killed the immersion (and took my blood echoes).

There is nothing left for me to say, but what about you? what you thought of the game? have you tried it? let’s talk about it!
