Drama and fantasy manga The Promised Neverland will receive an anime adaptation set to air on Fuji TV in Jan. 2019!
The Promised Neverland follows 11-year-old orphan Emma, who lives in an orphanage with 37 siblings. Under the care of their “Mom”, she leads a content life, but everything changes after she discovers the truth of the outside world.
Written by Shirai Kaiu and illustrated by Demizu Posuka, the original manga is currently being serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump. A total of eight volumes have been released, with more than 5 million copies sold. It was also nominated for prestigious awards like the 10th Manga Taishou and won the 63rd Shogakukan Manga Award in the shonen category in Jan. 2018.
A TV commercial has been released with lines from main characters Emma, Ray and Norman. However, the voice cast and staff have not yet been confirmed.
